I have an external spin-on filter, and the manual lists the filter as: Parker IN HC 5720. This is apparently a misprint, and the actual part number is "HC 5720". I'm not sure if Parker makes that P/N anymore, but it cross references to Fleetguard HF6167, Napa 1759).

The manual goes on to talk about some models having a Nelson reservoir with internal filters. If you've got the Nelson reservoir, apparently it'll use Nelson 84101B filters, but these are internal cartridge filters, and are not the same as the Parker spin-on filters for the tank/external filter.

I sure don't see the external filter. I do have the canister and am getting some Dex and some Nelson filters. Where is your spin on? Next to the can?

If you have a round reservoir, you won't have an external filter, just the three internal filters. The big o-ring seal was pretty hard on mine so I ordered a new one and replaced it.

Same here as Ben's. In addition there is a gauge which indicates status of external filter.

A filter gauge on the hydraulic reservoir? I've never seen that--do you have a picture?

Gauge is a part of the filter head on the spin-on filter.

Its definitely hard to figure out which coaches have which features. I would have thought all the round reservoirs would be the same, but that's obviously not the case.

Ah, Yeah !

Oddly enough, my owners manual shows the remote spin-on filter as 'optional on coaches with Caterpillar engines'. I have a Cummins engine!
Guess they had an extra one kicking around, so they threw it on !

As far a time interval to change hyd. fluid the Kubota tractors we sell have 600 hour intervals on oil & 300 hours on filters. That fluid is operating the transmission clutch packs, steering, PTO, 3-point lift & remotes. Our MH hyd. oil doesn't have nearly as hard a job.
So at 90k + miles mine shows just over 1900 hours. It's 15 years old so that's a average of 126 hours per year. That would be filter changes every 2 1/2 years & oil change every 5 years.

Round gasket under the large lid? Do you happen to have a part number or source for that? I have ordered the filters, Dex 3 (chevron) and drill pump. Didn't think about the gasket.

My spin-on is low on the driver's side, inside the 'box' formed by the hitch mounting frame, opposite the secondary fuel filer. (the manual says it has an integral flow meter, but mine has none)
I have a big aluminum box reservoir on the passenger side rear of the engine compartment, and no canister/filter.
