I don't doubt that there is contamination and it's possibly lodged in the steering gear box somewhere in the left turn circuit.
However, if the right turn still works ok wouldn't the pump probably be ok?

I gather the owner isn't into doing his own work, but I would try draining, back flush the gear box, clean fluid reservoir & replace filters & fluid.
IMHO it would be worth a try, but maybe not at shop prices.

Jim I actually found the pump on Ebay and contacted the seller and we made a deal on the pump. It has been shipped and suppose to arrive around the 10th.
I plan to have the shop remove the old pump and install this new one. His items are being sold under Summitrvparts Tacoma Washington on Ebay.
