I replaced Norcold Unit with the Amish system

I just wanted to Thank all the people that has replaced Their Units with the Amish system, and took time to show Us how they did it.

I admit that it is a time comsuming job, and if You do it correctly as instructed, it is worth it.

We lost the cooling the week We were going to Yellow Stone and had to use the Ice chest and a portable ref.

We test the new unit before putting it back in its hole, and the freezer is
holding at 6 and the ref. is hoding at 35. That is with the setting of 4 on the controls.

We are so happy now that it is working and I want to commend David Force, He is a very nice and helpful person at RV cooling Warehouse.

I want to Thank all the Members on this webb site and it has really
been a help in all the problems, We have had with Our motor home.

I also did this upgrade on our 91 sportscoach and I cannot word it any better than Phil did. David Force was a great help and always answered the phone and my questions. I do want to suggest that you look at this part of the forum. It also will help you very much.

I turned on the reefer to start cooling it down on 9-3-12. We wanted to leave on a couple week trip to MN.

No cooling. Started troubleshooting. Ordered an Amish cooling unit, fans and a new Dino Board on 9-6-12.

Parts delivered 9-13-12. Making rock hard Ice Cream now.

I'm happy with the install support from David.

One question though. Do your fans shut off when you open either of the lower doors?

Finally leaving for MN Monday. Little cool up there already. Hope I can find a few fish dying to climb into a boat.

Not on our Dometic 1062. Do they go off immediately or take a few minutes?
If it takes a few minutes maybe it's getting better airflow and the temp switch cools off enough to shut down?

Hello Ken, I am really pleased with Our Amish unit. Yes the fans will go off when You open the bottom two doors. I also asked David should We turn the unit off when We aren't useing it. He said to let it run if You are on shore power all the time, and it wouldn't hurt it.

We are really looking for to going on a trip, and using a cold cold ref.

Thanks for Your reply

Phil
