Ice Maker Leak

If your ice maker is not leaking now, it will some day so you may want to keep this information. National RV Refrigeration in Shipshewana, IN has a fairly large supply of Norcold and Dometic refrigerators that he bought "scratch & dent" and he "parts them out". Leon Herschberger, owner, is a good guy to work with and his prices are very reasonable. Phone # 260-768-7059 He sold me a new ice maker for $45 + shipping. The last time I bought one retail I think it was about $150.

The ice maker is leaking from inside the refrigerator? Just asking ... weird. I haven't run across that problem yet. I've fixed leaks on the supply line and have winterized a few rigs.

Yes, it leaked on the left side just outside the cube tray and the box on the left side. Made a nice little ice cicle clear to the bottom. Reminded me of my days growing up in Ohio in the winter. Had enough of that!!!!

I found out about where to buy the replacement from two different friends that had the exact same leak this summer while they were in IN and found this place.

If your icemaker is over 3 to 4 years old the Teflon coating will start to peel from the heat and cold cycle. This will cause the water to wick out and cause a leak or drip. These icemakers are available from Lowes for about $50 and are an easy replacement.
