Seems to me I read somewhere about 4M Products' flourescent replacement LEDs and when I looked at them they are basically "plug-n-play" in that you can use the original flourescent bulb holder and simply plug in a bulb shaped LED. They are 12" and 18" long. Check it out at M4PRODUCTS.COM

Thanks for the link Peggwn. I might like to try these out.

Notice that they do require simple rewiring of the fixture to eliminate the ballast so it's not completely plug-n-play. But an easy conversion.

These are new on Ebay. I bid on a pair of Warm White and got them for ~$6.

1 x E17 2 6W 64 LED 3014 SMD 110 120V Light Bulb Warm White Silicone Crystal | eBay

I assume the silicone-crystal helps to dissipate the heat! First e17 LED replacements I've seen!

They are 2.6 watts each and ~250 LM. I put them in my S&B microwave range light. Not hardly as bright as the 2x40 watters I removed, but very serviceable. 5.2 watts vs. 80 watts, yea, that works for me! The warm white looks to be just a little higher on the Kelvin scale than the incandescent ones I replaced.
