That's a good plan. Drilling the hole is the scary part. The rest is easy.

So far, I'm liking them.
I have the model with the white lights too (model RGBWW). The white lights work great for picnic-table/area lighting, and the RGB lights are great for mood lighting.
DW wants the "under coach ground effect" lighting now.

Thanks Mike, I'm glad to here you like them as I think I ordered the same setup as you. That's funny we just ordered ours yesterday and already thinking of doing the under glow. We might better see how I do on installing the awning strip first. I think I'm going to bring the power wires into the cabinet where the 12 volt awning supply is located, should be fairly easy. Famous last words right...

I drilled about 1 inch forward of the place where the awning lights power cable enters. That keeps the hole inside the upper cabinet on the inside and still keeps the cable behind the awing on the outside.
There was no way to use the same hole the awning power uses (too small and cant reach from outside) but that awning power lead provides a good marker for where to drill.
I just took the 12V power feed off the 12V used for the under cabinet lights.

So I gave them a call and asked if it is still up for 99 bucks ( yes) it is. Spoke with Holly and she said when checking out it will have a spot for pro mo code. That code is 60OffALK. and that will make it 99 with no tax and free shipping. If you have trouble on-line just call the 800#.

Ive wanted to do the same thing, our awning is on the slide and is power, why they didn't provide outside lights is a mystery. I put leds underneath the bottom door that supply some lights but not enough to find the mh at night!

I plan on drilling a 1/4" hole just above where the awning power comes through and I will be inside the same cabinet. Once inside I can tap into the awnings 12v power supply.

Very happy with install, did about same penetration as CountryB, gives off lots of light and great when outdoors.
