Interior lights on and off without touching switches.

2007 Camelot 42 PDQ.
We are having a problem with the Puck lights and florescent lights going on and off in the coach without touching any of the light switches.

Can I get some advice on what to do?
Thanks in advance! Cary

Cary-

When I had that symptom, the cause was a solenoid that was failing. It's not the one circled below, but the one to its left. The BATTERY" switch by the door activates this solenoid.

You can bypass this solenoid. If the problem goes away, you can leave the bypass in place or replace the solenoid. It's KIB part number LR9806C-BIP; links to buy one are here and here.

I had the same issue several years ago. It's your multiplex system.

Do you know where the control board is? Its normally in the same electrical box as your circuit breakers. Many owners don't know that. You need to unplug it, wait, then plug it back in.

If that doesn't work, you may have to replace the board from M &M Electronics.

the prior owner indicated he thought intellitec model 760, 50 amp smart EMS controller needed to be changed. 53-00894-200.
Could that be the culprit?

(intellitec and multiplex is the same thing)

To answer your questions, yes, it very likely could be. Mine went crazy a few years ago. Lights would blink off/on randomly when there was a fairly heavy load (both A/C's running) while on generator. My controller happens to be in rear bedroom, over the engine. Those electronics aren't crazy about the heat. Do you know where your control board is? There is high voltage in there, so be careful.

Call M&M. They are very helpful and will walk you through diagnostics and replacement, if needed.

I had a chance to go back and review my notes from when I was having issues. One of the first questions M&M asked, was "do you have florescent lights"? Apparently the ballasts can interfere with the multiplex system. I ended up replacing all my fixtures to LED, but it still didn't help. Not until I replaced the entire intellitec board.

Our Dynasty had a similar problem. Apparently some of the wiring in the close Intellitec system were undersized . Changing the one problem wire with 12 ga. wire solved the problem. The shop in Michigan, just over the Indianaine was owned by a former Monaco tech and he was familiar with the problem .
