Intermitent elect. prob. when driving

Hi y'all, We have a problem with our 1997 Executive 41'. While driving we get an audible alarm and the King throttle/cruise contol and all of the dash gauges shut down. The 8.3 Cummins engine continues ro run (last year for the mechanical engine). If we stop and shut the key off for a couple minutes and start up, everthing starts working again. It usually alarms and shuts down at the worst time, in heavy traffic, on a long incline, etc.

I have replaced the two "ignition relays", regrounded everything, cleaned all of the fuses and receivers, cleaned every wire connection I could find. We spent a small fortune and eight days in a Freightliner shop and they helped some - it happens less often now. The problem is it still happens!

Does anyone have any ideas what we are missing? Please help!!!!

We had two instances of a similar nature. All the gauges including the Banks display shut down while climbing the grade to west Yellowstone. Heard a big buzz on the radio, after about a minute everything came back. Happened again on the south 15 in Utah. I was thinking it is an electric field from power lines. A lexus we used to own did the same thing on the 210 east bound in Los Angeles when I went under the high tension lines, did it every time in the same place.

http://www.solar-electric.com/nosufefi.html is a link to snap on Ferrite beads. They will most likely solve the problem, place a filter bead on both the positive and negitive leads if they are separate or a large diameter bead on the power cable near the point of connection to the load. My electric gate was acting up and these solved the problem. Glad you posted as I will put some on the various points in the MH so it does not happen to us again.
