Inverter Settings

I just bought 8 new 6 volts for the Dynasty. It also has 2 Group 31 12 volt batteries for the Chassis. I have a Magnum MS 2812 Inverter/Charger. What do I use for the battery voltage settings? The 6 volts would be 4 x200: 800 AHR. Do I ignore the 2 chassis batteries? When I bought my unit the inverter was at the default setting of 400 AHR. What about the Battery Charge rate/ I don't want to boil my new batteries!

Thanks

Does your Magnum have the "auto" setting like the Xantrex? If not, I think I would just choose the 800 for now and then call magnum and ask. I think my xantrex 3000 says to choose 1000 for my 8- 6v house trojans. I also believe I read that it takes a few cycles for the "auto" setting to "dial in". Not sure how the chassis 12v's fit into the equation but sounds like a non-factor in the xantrex book. Let us know what you find out.

On edit: did you also install the battery temperature sensor with the new Magnum or could you use the old xantrex set up?

Barlow: The Magnum is OEM. Never had a Xantrex in the Dynasty. It does have the temp. sensor taped between 2 of the 6 volts. No AUTO setting I am going to call Magnum tomorrow. Thanks

moisheh.......The chassis batteries aren't used in configuring the settings. I did the math and I thought mine were set correctly, but I always had acid issues. I called Magnum and they were very helpful. Just give them your battery specs (amp hours, etc) and they will tell you the correct settings.
