That is correct on the sumps.

When I last changed my filters I pointed the MH downhill on my driveway and let it sit overnight and only lost about a quart of fluid. I think parking it heading down on my slopping driveway helped a lot and made all the fluid stay at one end of the tranny.

Don't know what sump your transmission has but my Allison 3000 has a 4 inch sump.

I was told by someone who does the tranny maint that you will loose a lot of tranny fluid when you pull the filter covers.
