A tilt switch is what you need. I replaced ours a few months ago with a switch from Newark Electronics. https://www.newark.com/comus-assemte...tch/dp/68C1649 I think I paid more for postage than I paid for the switch.

Front passenger side upper cabinet is repaired and ready to go back in. I narrowed it by 7" to have clearance for my new cherry TV cabinet I am building to accommodate a new 43" smart TV I just purchased. Making TV cabinet identical to the busted up existing one except 7" wider.

New 7" wider TV cabinet cherry pieces are all cut and last night I started to apply the required multiple coats of semi gloss lacquer. Still have to sand the back plate which I made from solid cherry vs the original 3/4" plywood.

I basically am copying the original cabinet design but adding 7". My '04 coach had early flat screen type tv's from the factory, so I did not have the head banger issue others mention in similar year coaches.

Pics below show busted old cabinet and my new replacement pieces getting finished.

New 7" wider TV cabinet is done... Test fit TV and it is perfect. Now the fun part of trying to get it mounted with just my wife to help. Lol

Doesn't look to heavy at least. Probably worth making a simple support from underneath that will support it while you are securing it in place.

Since I don't think you have your front cap on yet you might be able to position you fork lift in the front and work off of it.

I've been building a house for the last 3 years and have done a lot by myself. Of course I've fallen off ladders 3-4 times and took a +10' fall off some scaffolding while building my deck but hay, I'm still kicking. Sore but kicking.

Got it in position by myself.... Used strap up front hooked to roof and a piece of scrap tubing wedged up against the rear of cabinet. Fits pretty good.... Will screw it in place tomorrow morning.

TV test fit and first power up in the coach.... Finally have completed something positive again on this project.

Also received my "new" used Sony Blu-ray/amp unit, but the speaker plugs are different so I had to order a new set of plugs.... No surround sound until UPS man comes with them next week.

Thanks Jim... I love the challenge of DIY type work.

I keep thinking I am getting close to mounting the cap. Just remembered I need to first make/route a new wiring harness for the used mirrors I bought last year. My exisiting harness on the front of the coach was for simpler mirrors that only had one adjustment section each plus heat and light. My replacement mirrors have 3 section adjustment each and heat and light. I am basically going to have to come up with a couple maybe 3 position switches and additional wiring to be able to select which mirror motor I am adjusting using the existing mirror controller mounted in the coach. Going to have to do some research on how to do this. Existing mirror harness
has one plug.... Replacement mirrors have two connectors each.

Great work on the TV mounting, but isn't that going to block a lot of scenery looking out that big beautiful windshield?

Just sayin'.

Happy Glamping.
