Kudos to you....

Gentlemen in your golden years, tackling shock re & re on the Roadmaster chassis !
I'm in my early 50's, and just doing the very front two,( the other pair are on back order) beat the he.. out of me! Cant see the back 6 being much fun either! The top stud nut on the passenger side, was one click on the ratchet at a time, and was work right till the last two threads !
What everyone has found with the Monroe Shocks, absolutely true. Compressed them with one hand, and 4min later, they were still expanding !!

That's why I paid a RV shop to install my 8 Koni's for me. Only cost me $200.

It was worth every penny!

On most Monaco coaches, at least on ours, there are two straps at the bottom of the wheel well fender covers. If you take those straps loose the fender will swing up and expose the air bags and the shocks. It might make things a little easier for you. This will not work on the right front fender and only works on the left front if the slide is open.

Really. I'll certainly investigate that before I tackle any more.

Thanks.

Did mine last year at age 64 yrs young. Is a job but spread it out over two days. The top stud is a pain to remove but a trick is to loosen the stud nut slightly then lay the wrench on the nut and turn the body of the shock. The reverse procedure when installing the new shocks will not work if you are installing Bilstein due to rubber boot versus metal housing on old Monroes.
