Large slide not retracting fully on one side

Greetings all, and Happy 4th,

I put my living room slide out and when I tried to retract one side seems to be stuck after moving a few inches. The entire slide wants to come in at an angle.

Of course the side that doesn't want to work is under a plate behind the front tire. Because it moves a little before stopping I can only assume that there are no pins snapped.

Has anyone had a problem like this?

Thanks in advance,
Patrick

If it’s a hydraulic slide, move it back out and keep holding the switch on for 3+ seconds after it stops moving. I know you do not want to do this but there is a 3rd cylinder in the system that needs centering... won’t hurt it holding the switch on. When it comes in do the same when it stops. I do this after 15-20 times of putting the slide out.

Ivylog, appreciate your reply.

Mine is electric and it is an inch or more out of square with the other side. Mechanically I cannot see how this can happen but there are adjusting bolts so maybe that's what I'll have to do.

It appears that it is just stuck on the top side. I may have to use some sort of a trick to push or pull the top in while I'm bringing in the slide......??

thx again,

Had the same problem. Mine is electric and one of the slide motors was bad and therefore the one on the opposite side was doing all the work. Check the motor on the side that sticks out to make sure it is working.

FOUND IT !! The shaft going to the problem has broken loose from the welding. No pin which is a mystery to me but I will install a pin if I can drill a hole all the way through the square shaft ( the one that broke away ) that fits over the solid round shaft.

I know that's all confusing but...........

thx to all for your ideas.
