Leak above kitchen in 2005 Monarch 30 PDD

I have a 2005 Monarch Monaco SE 30 PDD. I noticed a leak at the window in the kitchen. I pulled the window to reseal and there's water above the window. I then pulled the porch light but there's moisture above the light as well.

My roof is pretty solid, the seams were all replaced last year.

My best guess for the source of the leak is the attachment point for the awning. The awning rail looks like it pulled away from the wall a tad. This "shouldn't" be an issue since the roof panel overlaps the side panel, but here I am.

Has anyone replaced the awning track? It's held on by rivets, but my thought was to drill out the rivets, pull the rail, clean up the silicone from the previous owner, and reinstall with fresh butyl. Does my plan make sense?

Thanks!

snu64-

This is a common problem in the Monaco/Holiday Rambler products. Serious water intrusion can result.

Even though it is high on the coach, that joint is often called the "beltrail."

The folks at Talin Manufacturing in Brooksville, Florida have a lot of experience with this problem and its repair. Also, they have a fix for the slide-floor rot problem that afflicts some Monaco/HR coaches. Their Web site is here. Give them a call for a consultation.

In the Summer of 2020 I had to repair the passenger side of our coach's beltrail, followed by floor rot repair inside the coach. It was, for me, about as deep into fixing things on the coach as I cared to go. I spoke with the Talin folks several times during the repair process. They were very helpful.

On another topic: I have wiring diagrams for your coach. If you send me a private message that includes your e-mail address, I'll send the diagrams to you. Don't "publish" your e-mail address in public here, or the spammers will get it. Instructions on sending a private message are here.

X2 on the beltline.

I had a problem in my rear passenger side, I ultimately found a bad spot in the beltline.

It took me a couple days to remove the old caulk with heavy long scrapers and then apply a bead of Geocil. Luckily I have a garage with concrete floor and was able to use a set of mobile/wheeled scaffolding to work off of. It would have taken a lot longer working off a ladder.
