The seal not flipping is where I would start

You will probably remember this thread from a short while back

I may try one of the things recommended in that thread .

I'll be following this hoping to get more ideas .

Thanks Ray, I do remember reading that thread about adding the strip to prevent seal roll over. I think I will need to replace my old seal first, then add the strip if needed.

Mike ,

I need to replace my seals too .
A bit of searching in the quick tips will show that it's important to select

the right brand because some seals do not have the steel grippers encased

inside rubber and will rust out quickly .
I can't remember which one is best but plan to research it again someday .

I think I recall that from the factory ( better price ) they had to order
an entire roll ( 200 ft ) and split it .

If you find out let me know , maybe we can split a roll .

@Ray, the seal does tend to fold in. I have sprayed the seals with the "seal lube" but it still wants to roll in on itself in a couple of places. Maybe a new (stiffer?) OEM seal will help correct this.

@winniman, if I lean the coach slightly that may help on the side that is leaking (at least until I can get the seal replaced) but that might also result in the other side slide leaking. Still worth a try. Thanks

So do I need to try and get a new inner seal too? Or just do the outer seal for now and see if that fixes the problem.
As I mentioned, I'm not sure if the inner seal is actually a weather seal or just there for dust/noise. It doesn't feel very substantial. And it looks like it would be hard to get at.
For this same reason, my future coach will have two slides on the same side so that I can keep it slightly leaned toward the slides. They generally wont leak unless it is raining very hard. People say theirs never leak, but unless the topper extends out beyond the roof, or the rv is designed to have a slight pitch on the roof, I dont see how a piece of rubber lying flat against a surface can be 100 percent waterproof. Why they make them flat and not slightly pitched down is beyond me. It would solve the problem hands down.
