Left side air bags won't inflate on start up.

I'm lost as the left side won't come up and the right side is high. This happened after not using the coach for two weeks, every thing was fine when I parked it.
any help would be great. The bags dump fore and aft so this right left thing has me baffled by the way this is a eight bag Roadmaster chassis.

Thanks John

Have you checked the air ride leveling valves? The arm may have come unattached to the rod connected to the axle. On my coach I have one per side for a total of 4

Hi John,

Couple things comes to mind. As already mentioned, could be an issue with the ride height air levelling valve. Should be 2 valves at the rear, and 1 at the front. The 2 at the rear are responsible for setting the ride height side-to-side.

Do you hear air leaking out? Not sure if you have an air leveling system, it could be one or more of the solenoids stuck open on the 6 pack.

Could also potentially be a Pressure Protection Valve (PPV) that the left side air bags are connected too, that is not opening at the cut in pressure and providing air to the bags. Typically, I believe the front and rear bags will also be on different PPVs, so seems unlikely it would cause an entire side not to inflate. But thought I would mention it just in case.

If you do not hear a major air leak, I think a good chance that 1doodadd is right and it has something to do with the air leveling valve.

All the best,
Josh

Not familiar with your model air bag manifolds. I wouldnít think suddenly both ride height valves failed. I would guess the rear drivers side leveling arm by the axle came off.
Can you raise it manually?
You can disconnect the valves and check their ohm value to see if they failed.
Donít get crushed in the process. Just unplug each valve electrical plug on the manifold and check itís ohms. Block the frame anytime you are under it.

4 ride height valves are possible (our last coach, an Alpine had them) but EXTREMELY rear.

3 are much more common.

If solid front axle, normally two on the rear axle, one in front.

If IFS normally two in front, one in back.

Totally agree, you need to check your ride height with the coach aired up and jacks stowed/air leveling in travel mode.

I don't think one problem can cause both front and rear left side air bags to not inflate. Are you sure the front isn't inflated?

One travel height valve on the left or rt controls the lean. I didn't know an Ifs had two front and one rear.

Either way, thereís not one device that controls both the front and rear air bags on one side is there?

With three ride height valves, indeed that axle with the two valves DOES control total coach lean. The axle with the single ride height valve can only "average" ride height if the ride height valve is in the middle of the axle as is commonly the case.

Please start by verifying that your rear ride height valves (assuming the rear axle is the one with the two ride height valves) IS to spec.

Youíre making my point. He said none of the left side air bags are airing up. I take that to mean front and back axle. Thereís no way one issue causes both front and back to fail to inflate. I was trying to pin down the actual symptom.

The front follows the back. If it didn't the windshield would crack. The front the air just transfers side to side. Not sure of the six-pack control over it but it doesn't try and level when airing up like the rear as far as I know.

I know how the suspension works. I’ll try one more time to explain what I’m asking.

He said the left side air bags aren’t inflating. To me that means the left side air bags, both front and rear are flat. I have a slow leak somewhere in my right rear air bag line. After 3 days the right rear sags, but the right front is still high. The coach has a visible droop to that corner. That is different than the whole left side not inflating as described. I was trying to find out from the OP if that is truly the case. Like I said previously, I don’t see one problem causing the front and rear left side to not inflate because they are inflated and controlled from different tanks and valves.
