Leveling

Hey-all, getting ready to start our adventure in our new to us ‘07 Admiral ‘30, full side slide. Does HR recommend leveling first then slide out or slide first then level. Thanks to everyone who has helped us to figure this coach out. I hope I can help some others along the journey!!!

Some are level first, some are slide out first.

Check your manual, which you can find here: https://www.holidayrambler.com/owners-manuals/

Not sure what the manual says but I always want to be level or close to it before trying to open the slides. This will reduce unnecessary stain on the moving parts. My slides are very heavy and I want to make it as easy as possible on the moving parts.

I have read this several times but I can't imagine why. Just doesn't make sense to possibly bind up the slide with an unlevel rig. Also, some leveling systems really jerk the rig around during their leveling process. I can't imagine how it could hurt anything to level first but it's probably best to go with what the manual says since the manufacturer hopefully knows best.

Manuals for 2007 Admirals say slides out first, then level. My 2008 is the same.

I've read on iRV2 that the reason for this order is that Monaco factory-installed slide(s) while a coach was at ride-height (on springs for gassers and sprung diesels, on air for diesels that use airbags). I can't say whether or not this reason has any factual basis, or is just someone's idea.

I have been known to perform the steps out of order, both accidentally and on purpose. "Your mileage may vary."

That's what I've heard too. However, I think that's if you are parked on a reasonably flat surface, if not I would level first.
Either way, before or after works for me.
