What's the correct procedure for extending and retracting your leveling jacks? I've been:
1. Put off slides.
2. Dump the air.
3. Set the jacks.
When leaving:
1. Retract the jacks.
2. Air up coach.
3. Retract slides.
I believe this is what the manual said and the advice I got from other HR owners. Correct or not?

I sometime get a feeling that the correct procedure depends on "which religion you subscribe to".

I would make one small change in your procedure. When leaving camp, I would air up the coach first and then retract the jacks.

Reasons....
1. Air comes up faster without having to lift the entire coach with the air bags. Probably easiser on the airbags that way as well.

2. When I retract the jacks, the coach is more more stable with the air bags full. It does not fall or twist so much. That helps to keep twisting torque off the big one-piece windshield.

My motto is "air before jacks" whether arriving or leaving.

Richard I did it the way you posted for about 7 yrs and never had a problem with the 3 jack sys, I believe I would stick with your procedure. I dont think it would matter if the coach had air leveling what procedure you used.

I also air up before retracting the jacks. I've always felt the hydraulic jacks were too abrupt when first activated (both setting and retracting) and airing up the coach when leaving seems to dampen the first jolt when retracting. I no longer use the auto level for the same reason and think the abrupt initial action of the jacks contribute to some windshield problems.
