Leveling jacks work intermittent

Hi I need help for my neighbor who has a 2007 Diplomat. The leveling jacks do not always work due to the parking brake light either on or off. He has had several mobile "repair" come out and try to find the issue with no luck. He definitely has narrowed the issue down to the parking brake on or off light. When the light is on the jacks work fine. Anyone have this issue and what was the resolve?

More than likely it's the parking brake switch failing. Not sure where it would be located on an 07 Diplomat though.

Hi Stuben; I have never had this problem, but I think it has to do with the parking brake pressure switch. If the switch does not close, I believe parking brake on, it acts like an interlock to keep the jack from being deployed. Those switch's are located different places on Monaco coach's, but you will usually find them under the panel where the parking brake knob is located. Try asking your question in the search box at the top right of this page as this does occur at times. Other owners here have posted about what you are asking. Hope this info helps. The switch is not expensive. Also it has been noted that sometimes it is just a loose connection on the switch itself. Just remove the wire terminals on the switch and plug them back in is enough to solve the problem as a small amount of corrosion is on the switch terminals.

This is the switch I have under the parking brake knob that I had to replace for a different issue (brake light and buzzer coming on & off while driving) but sounds like it's the same cause on yours.
The previous owner had bought the switch but never replaced it. Once I started looking at it I understood why he never got to it as there is not much room to work. If your panel is anything like mine, be careful as those get brittle over time. I had to open both the top and side panel with storage pockets.
I carefully lifted the top panel up using bigger and bigger props while feeding all the wiring to various switches just enough to be able to replace the switch.
