Light for Step

2000 Monaco Diplomat 38D

Not sure how to get to this light bulb. Anyone know how to get to it without breaking anything? I sure would like to have this bulb working to light up the
step.

I used a small flat head screwdriver to pry it off. The bulb is a 194LL. I would upgrade to a LED bulb, should be the same 194 #

Hi LilGTO71; That step light on my 2001 Windsor is controlled by the step switch on the dash by the entry door. When my switch is selected to have the step extended and retract every time the door is opened the light will come on when the step extends. If the switch for the step is in the position for when the door is opened and the step extends but does not retract when the door is closed the light stays off. Not sure if this works the same on newer Monaco coaches.

there's a couple of scenarios on our 11 diplomat that controls it...I really haven't paid too much attention to it since the salesman left money on the tables since he didn't tell us HALF the features on this rolling house

I do know the light goes on and off with the door... YRMV

Thanks to WindsorBill! I was able to get the orange cap off without damage. The bulb had come out, but was still rolling around in there. I plan on putting a dab of silicon adhesive on either side to help keep it in place.
