location of water filter elements

we are stumbling our way through figuring out nearly everything with this coach. we are very much rookies. currently we are wanting to disinfect the water system before taking it out on a trip and are trying to find the location of the water filter elements the book says to remove prior to the disinfecting process. Book says to remove elements prior to adding bleach solution. however we can not seem to locate the filters to remove elements. Any help is very much appreciated.
thanks

I don't know your rig, I would suggest checking the basement bays (mine is in the curbside bay opposite the wet bay) also look under the kitchen sink.

You haven't stated the make and model of your coach but on our Monterey the drinking water filter is located on the driver's side in a small compartment that is actually located in the wet bay but is accessed through a small door in the rear bulkhead of the pass-thru bay.

od1, On my rig, 04 HR Imperial, (same as the Windsor) they are in the narrow bay in the center of the coach one door opens to the driver side and the other to the curb side. They are accessable thru sliding doors between it and the adjoining storage bay. In mine the inverter sits in the center of the bay and the filters are on the bulkhead next to it. If you have that narrow transverse bay the primary filters may be in there. The filter for the small tap on the sink is under the sink. I you have a water hose reel they might be behind it.

I have a 2001 diplomat. I don't think I have a filter. Now I don't know. I guess I better take a look at the manual and find out. Never have it a thought.

If you have one and havent changed it in a few years it may not be pretty.

I was in a CG when my neighbor finally found he had one, it was black and slimy when he pulled it out. His DW almost got sick when she saw it and though about drinking the water that had come through it. I think it was compounded by the fact the coach had been in storage for a year with no water running through it.

I checked my owners manual. It says they were optional in my MH. Of course it doesn't say where they would locate it. I checked the water bay, and under the bath and lichen sink. None to be found unless they hide it somewhere else, which wouldn't surprise me at all. If there any other 2001 diplomat 38A out there. I'd love to here what you have.
Thanks
Rick.

I have an '03 Sig so yours may be similar. On the curb side between the steer and drive axles there are 4 bays. First bay is the fuel tank and AquaHot expansion tank. Next 2 bays are basement storage. 4th bay back curb side is a water bay and contains the 2 filters, the water pump and behind those and accessible from the storage bay to the right is the AquaHot. The next panel back, just in front on the drive axle is where the storage tanks reside. You can access those by two latches just under the edge of the coach. Hope this is accurate for your coach.
