Looked at 2013 dynasty at Gillette today
Not to offend anyone but I stopped up and looked at the new dynasty at the fmca rally today. SORRY but that front and rear cap amount to a new meaning for B++ ugly. It sure makes me like my 42' dynasty even more than I did before I looked at that. I have no use for two potties and the closets were a joke. I wonder if any of their designers ever tried to full time in a rig??????????????

The DW and I love our little 36' Monaco with only one "potty". Fantastic turning radius, and fuel economy. Who could ask for anything more. Oh yes we have a KINGSIZE bed which makes the 3 cats happy. deSanford

Although ours is only a Diplomat, we luv the bath & 1/2 layout with the large rear bath. We have a great closet in ours for our fulltiming needs.
As for the cap designs, I like them although there are many that don't.
All that said, have to admit I haven't seen the new Dynasty in person so it's hard to say just from looking at photo's

I mean no offence to owners of the the new Monaco's but, I agree with you. I asked a Monaco/Navistar rep at the Pomona CA RV show and he told me that the rear cap is designed that way to aid cooling the engine. Its all personal taste. I have never really cared for the front design of my 07 Dip but really like the rear cap design. I have had 2 Monaco's and they have been very good to me. I am half way on a 7k mile trip and love this thing.

Do you realize that the "new" Dynasty is not on the preferred Roadmaster "S" chassis???
They went cheap and downgraded the chassis to the raised rail, non-monocoque chassis. Many of us think a raised rail, Navistar powered coach is degrading to the Dynasty name.
I certainly do.

If it has a raised rail, non-monocoque chassis, then it is not a Dynasty.
They may have called it a Dynasty, but it is not a Dynasty.

I agree. I would not buy the new dynasty. I would buy a 2007-2005 Dynasty. If I were buying newer I'd be interested in checking out American coach.

We are also here at Gillette and looked at the Dynasty and other Monaco products. One other thing we noticed was the beds were higher off the floor and you almost needed a step ladder to get into bed. All the new Monaco's had a Navistar engine. With ASV now owning Monaco I would expect the Roadmaster chassis to go away and be replaced by one of the OEM chassis. I have owned a Freightliner chassis and am not a fan. Unfortunately they seem to be dominating the diesel market. They were the only chassis manufacture that showed up here and they brought one of their tag axle chassis for display. To take a guess I would say 80 % of the diesel coaches on display were on the Freightliner. I did noticed that the Integra's (formerly Travel Supreme) were on the Spartan with IFS. All of the ubiquitous Phaeton's that I saw were on the Freightliner although I have seen them on the Spartan at Lazydays in the past. The Allegro Bus all appeared to be on the Tiffin custom chassis.

The reports I've read from the rally seems to say that ASV has certainly not committed to continued Roadmaster production. The have not said no but there does not seem to be a significant business case to support continuing production.
I believe it is very safe to say that Navistar engines are a thing of the past for Monaco RVs. I don't know of anyone that said they were attracted to Monaco because of a Navistar engine. There are many Cummins fans out there with a widespread service network and a good history of reliability.
