Welcome to the forum:

What relay are you replacing and what model of RV do you have? We can give a lot more information.

If this is the alternator fail relay, mine uses a Hamsar which is located in the front driver side electrical compartment!

What model coach do you have?

When I put the Tyco number in a search it comes up with a common 'Bosch relay', cube relay.

If that is what you're looking for they're everywhere.

Any NAPA parts store will have what you need. Take the old one with you for a matchup

Exactly.

Any NAPA auto parts store will have what you need.

Just a plain Jane relay, no need to look for a TYCO brand.

Why are you replacing it???

Please understand, we do not know if you are a novice or expert here.

An alternator fail light can be a normal thing if you are plugged into shoreline and start the engine.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

Looks like others have solved the relay problem for you. I would suggest that you create a signature to show the make and model of your RV. It will help others when you have a question.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

data here says its a SPDT 40Amp, 6 volt relay.
And it says obsolete.
VF4-45D11 | Potter & Brumfield / Tyco Relays | Relay, ISO, Automotive Style Power Relay, 6VDC, 40

The 6 volt requirement is going to make it harder to find.

A common 12 volt relay is not likely to work. So you need to find a 6 Volt SPDT relay with same lug configuration (so it will plug in directly).

Some more searching and I found this old string, which identified a Rayex LD5F, which will work electrically (5V is close enough to 6V). It is availble from Jameco Electronics for $1.95.

However, I did not verify the base/lug dimensions and organization are the same. If not, you might have to change a connector, or if plugged into a larger socket assembly or a board, build a pigtail adapter.

The base configuration and dimensions for old and new can be extracted from here and here. My old eyes are too tired!

PS: I would try the auto-parts store thing first.

Oh and I found this current eBay listing. No pix but it says its new (I would NOT recommend a used one unless you get it free and then get a new backup).

Edit: Yet another source.

The eBay listing is 10x the price from Jameco, but have no idea what Jameco min order and shipping are.

The eBay listing is probably new old stock and there are no pix - buy at your own risk. However, if it is correct PN and new, it will definitely plug right in.
