MAC solenoids on rear of coach

Can anyone here tell me what the 2 solenoids mounted on the rear frame rail on the passenger side control? I have been having some issues with my air dump switch and noticed that when I hit the button I get very little air release out of them ( sometimes none at all). I do have a one of the solenoids leaking by a bit also. Anyway, I ordered 2 new valves as I figured that replacing both made sense. Is there any certain procedure for removing other than to release the air prior to removing? This is on a 96 Monaco Dynasty. Thanks!

Re Mac Solenoids

Those 2 solenoids are for the rear air bags and are activated by the Dump switch on the dash. There is also a single valve upfront for the front axle air bags. Should have 12 volts to the solenoids when the switch is activated. The exhaust ports are prone to being blocked by mud daubers if no screens are fitted.

Thank you Dennis. I am going to pull it in to the shop this weekend and just change both of them out. The front one looks like it may have been changed fairly recently. One the of the solenoids is leaking as I did confirm this by spraying a little soapy water on the valve. When I hit the dump switch, I get little to no air coming out of either of the rear s-noids.

Marc I think you will find that those mac valves are rebuildable with regular cheap O rings just use a silicon grease as this is air service and nothing to attack the rubber in the O ring
You should see them on top of the frame behind the rear duals, just get someone to hit the dump switch off and on until you locate it.

There's a thread on here about rebuilding them. It looks easy to do.

Thank you all for the help! I ended up buying two new solenoids at a local Grainger. All is working perfectly! one of the solenoids must have been bad as it was causing my Dump valve switch to blow the fuse.

My next task is to check ride height on the coach. Looks like the front end is sitting up higher in the front. Going to measure and adjust tomorrow. Hopefully it's not a difficult job.....
