Mac valve for step cover
The step cover came out and would not go back in. Found the Mac valve and I could feel it clicking when the switch was activated both ways. Coach air pressure was full but soon bled off fast. Removed it but numbers are painted over by Monaco. Has anybody replaced theirs and with what # valve. See pic of old one...
Thanks for any help
Dave

I don't know why some call this a "MAC" valve, it is made by Humphrey.

Maybe "Mac" made a similar valve. Or Mac is an analogy.

Additional UPDATE: After a few days with the new step cover valve installed I noticed the air tanks were holding pressure MUCH longer. Before the valve replacement the coach used to drop from 120lbs. to 30lbs. in a very short time, maybe 8 hours, Now after 72 hours I still have 90lbs. in the tanks. I never soaped the valve as I could not even see it behind heater hoses. It is very nice to solve 2 problems with 1 fix..... To anybody who is leaking air pressure faster than they think it should be sure to check the step cover valve. It is so easy to replace and inexpensive too......
Safe travels
Dave

Stan&Jacquie, mine was located in the front to the pass side of the generator. It was hidden behind some heater hoses and screwed to an upright support right above the pressure reg. for the door seal. It is not as big as I expected... If you stick you head inside the generator compartment and have someone flip the switch (with full air pressure) you can hear it click as it switches. Mine must had been going bad as air was leaking bad before I changed it.. When if finally failed I was backing into my warehouse and air pressure dropped to 30 lb.. It set the brakes, I had to put it in neutral and rev it up to get enough pressure to finish backing in, about 3 minutes at 2000 rpm's. After I had it in and engine stopped I could hear the fast air loss till pressure was gone in 4 minutes.
Safe travels
Dave

Hi Stan, an update.... I used to loose air pressure over night down to 30lbs. now with the new air valve over night I just lost 15lbs. and a week later I still had 60lbs. in the system. The valve was the BIG air loss I could never find. Hope your system is working good now...
Safe travels
Dave

Mac valve for step cover
The air cylinder under the step can also leak. Mine was a Phd cylinder AVP 3/4x24 from phd inc. my cylinder was about $75 bucks. Rob Doctor at PHD was very helpful on the cylinder. His email is RDoctor@phdinc.com
I had a thread on here about the air step cover but can’t find it now.

Hey Dave, I can't find my valve either. does this look familiar to you? This is at the top of the firewall on pass side. How big is it? There are so many hoses in there I can't move. I dont see anything like your pics.

This is a picture of the vacuum pump.
Here is a parts page for my Mac valve mounted on the fire wall. It is right above the generator.
