Maybe your lucky and haven't had a problem with one yet. But be careful, especially with the fixed unit mounted in the bay. My moho came with the factory installed one. I think it's a Sani Con. I has tickled pink until the first time I used it. The 3 inch hose that goes to it was split just before where it connected to the pump itself. When I opened the waste gate, guess where the waste went. Luckily, I opened the gray tank first.

I replaced the hose, but about half the time it clogs and won't drain. I have take the 3 inch hose off and manually clean it. I don't know why it goes that, but it's proved to be more trouble then it'd worth.

If you want a Macerator you have basically 3 x 2 choices.

The 2nd choice limits the first in this case so I'll give it first.

Installed or "Portable" (I recommend portable) RV-Sanicon sells both systems.

Among portables you have the following.....

1: Flo-Jet
2: Sani-Con
3: Home brew

Between the first two the Sani-con system has, as I recall, a "Gray water bypass" this is a small bypass line that lets water flow around the pump if it does not need chewing up (Macerating).. Some folks like this feature.. The Flo-Jet (Such as I have) does not have this feature.. Otherwise there is not a lot to recommend one over the other (NOTE: I don't need that feature, or care for it.)

The one thing I will recommend is you install a GOOD SOLID 12 volt line to the waste compartment or a added compartment nearby (How I did it). Now in my case I used 10Ga wire off the main fuse block, dedicated (Extra fuse socket) circuit, Anderson power poles (This is all rated (Save for the fuse) at 40 amps) The anderson's are self cleaning and can haul the current.. A common 12 volt accessory socket can NOT CARRY THE CURRENT. So use a high-current connector.. Two sources of Anderson power pole type connectors.. NAPPA has them (They are used for Jumper cables) these however are way bigger than the 40 amp ones I use.. I got mine from West Mountain Radio.. I need to re-order too.

(They are very useful connectors)

Why I recommend a portable.....

The 3" hose is way faster, and some folks claim that the "Woosh" factor when you open that big valve does a better job of getting semi-solids out of the tank and down the drain.. I do not know if this is true or not.. And have no desire to test the theory. Thus I use the Rino-Flex to do the job less there is an ISSUE.

Issues include: Hole in ground too high (Above outlet on RV)
and It's a long way, to the hole, to the hole where I dump,

Though I have 50 feet of 3" hose... I'd rather not use all of it at the same time.

Thus I use the portable pump when I need to, and the 3" when I can.

My coach came with a portable Sani-Con unit that attaches to the 3" solid pvc outlet. In 22,000 miles of travel I have not used it. My 3 in dia hose has worked just fine. I keep it for the day I might have to pump up hill or
put out a large campfire fast .

So I would try the 3 inch hose and see how it works out.

In my installation the orientation of the tank outlet is at a 45 degree angle to, and close to the sewer bay pass out port. If the SaniCon inlet hose is connected then there's insufficient access to pass the discharge hose through the pass out. Putting the discharge hose out first then connecting up the inlet means that I can't retrieve the discharge hose without disconnecting the inlet which results in a lot of sewage discharged in the sewer bay, on my shoes, etc.

So the tried and true 3 inch hose works best in most cases for me. YMMV
My Sig was like that and I had Monaco cut another hole to the right of the original hole and now I never have to disconnect the dump hose. I just unscrew the cap from the 2nd hole and drop the sani-con hose through it and hook up...clean/no mess. Monaco did this for me back in 2008 before they went under at no charge. They agreed with me that it was something that should have been done from the factory....Awww, the "good old Monaco", I miss their customer service of old.

With all thats been said, I've only owned 2 coaches so far and both have had the sani-con system, and I can say that neither have ever given me any trouble at all, and I wouldn't have a coach with out it. I have NEVER used the 3 inch hose and don't see a need to start now.
