Maintain accurate temp day or night
I'm just curious if this is normal, if others deal with this, or if there is a solution I'm missing?
Over the last couple weeks traveling through Moab, and New Mexico, I would find myself needing to set the thermostat for the front and back A/C units to about 73degrees during the day to keep it cool, but at night, I needed to up the thermostat settings to about 78 in order to not freeze.
I realize that the sensors are in locations where outside wall or where the sun can impact an accurate reading, but I'm just curious, is there a mod or something I'm missing or upgrade that allows you to set a temperature and have the interior air actually feel like the temp you set day or night. It would be nice if I set it and could forget it?

You have correctly identified the problem .
Any successful mod would require 1) shielding the outside wall (sensor location) from the sun or 2) relocating the sensors. I think about it and then raise/lower the settings . My sensors are located in the worst possible locations.

I've come to believe its a futile endeavor . Parking in shade will help but that's
not possible very often .
Sometime I get up at night to tinker with the thermostat , to hot or to cold ,
maybe only 30 min apart . I've decided to sleep best I'll get it as cold as
possible and cover up .
Now with that said I have found that directing the air away or toward the sensor
can make a huge difference in the operation .
Still I keep trying to find a way to get it working just right .

I don't have any remote temp sensors, or the thermostat itself, mounted on exterior walls, but I have had the mid ac 'run away' where the compressor remained on when the bathroom temp got well below setpoint.
I unplugged the remote sensor on the ac unit, then plugged it back in, and it fixed the issue.

Hi Ben , That's interesting , do you think it was some kind of reset or
maybe you corrected a poor connection at the ac unit ?

Could be either. It felt well plugged in!
