Major Fresh Water Tank Leak

Camping in the desert with lots of crazy Off-Road Fun Seekers, and found that with my Water Pump running (I can hear it) there is no interior water pressure.

Cutting the loooooooong story short, got up at about 1:23 AM this morning and decided to check my fresh water tank. While I filled it completely full before I left for this trip, it is now down to 40 gal. Walked over to the other side of rig and found water soaked sand under my feet.

I pressed the exterior Water Pump switch and say water pouring out of my "shore water hose." But there was NO other leeks. I check the nob for "Fresh Water" or "City Water" turning that dial fully in either direction and still witnessed water coming out of that hose when I engages that Water Pump. Again, NO water pressure inside my rig.

Any thoughts?

Off the top of my head a garden hose plug or hose valve"shut off" may get you by until changing check valve.

Can anyone provide a picture of WHERE this valve is in the Wet-Bay and what this valve looks like?

THAT would be immensely helpful.

I'm not coming up with a picture, but ours was at "floor level", between the hose reel and the board that the Manibloc, surge tank and water pump are mounted on. The line, as I recall, came out of the hub of the spool, down to floor level, with a "ninety" headed toward mid-coach, and the check valve was right there before the next "ninety". That's how I remember it. It isn't much bigger than a PCV valve, if you remember what those looked like. Our coach is an '06 Dynasty, so should be virtually identical to yours in concept, at least.

Do you know the actual name of this check valve? Meaning "When looking to order one of these..." what and where do I buy it?

Anyone familiar with the life-span of these valves? Is it worth having a spare valve for the next time?

The check valve is actually a one way valve it lets the water flow one way
so it needs to be installed correctly . I'm pretty sure Lowes or H Depot
has them but you probably should have the old one to match it up .
When mine did like yours when I got it out I could see a piece of rubber
holding it open . Pulled that out and it has work perfect for yrs now .

So... you never replaced it? You simply "...pulled" the rubber piece out?

Yeah , that's what I did . Mine is made of brass while but are plastic
either will do the job but I like brass . I had mine out to replace it and
even after finding the rubber piece still thought I would replace it but it's
about 20 mi to town so I took the easy road and reused my old one .
So far it has worked out fine for me .

If you don't want to take it apart now then just buy a screw on cover
for the end of your hose .
If you have a " Y " like many of us carry that screws onto a faucet for 2
hoses and it has the cut off valves built in then just us that .
Most anything that will stop the water will do temporarily .

Yes, just put a cap on the hose to get you by. The check valve on mine is beside the hose reel. Follow the plumbing from the reel center and you should find it. I have removed a couple of them from Monaco and Beaver, disassembled them, cleaned the debris out and they are still working.

Yup!!! Got me several "Y" pieces. I like that Idea. But will still pull it off and pick up a replacement. Doesn't look expensive.

Thanks all for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Curious: "I have removed a couple of them from Monaco and Beaver." Are you an RV tech?

I'd appreciate it if anyone out there has an actual picture they can post of this "check-valve?"

Thanks.
