Maxxforce 10 question

he Maxxforce 10 in my Knight is rated 350 hp & 1150 ft/lbs, the same engine in the Diplomat is rated 405 hp and 1250. Is the difference only an electronic tuning matter, and if so, can buy the programming or a chip?

I too would like to know the answer to this question. I think maybe it may be a difference in the drive train , (transmission and differential ) but not sure...... Alan

I don't think they have used a MF 11 in the Monaco lineup as of yet
The Maxxforce 10 does come as stated with the 350hp and 1150 ft-lbs. in the knight's

The diplomat's come with 405hp and 1250 ft.-lbs in the Diplomat.

Sorry can't help with how they achieve that though

My guess would be the different power levels has to do with the drive train. Our ISL is limited to 1250 ft lbs because of the Allison transmission.

In looking at the 2012 brochure for the Diplomat 36 pft, It shows the same transmission as my Knight. I suspect it's the same thing GM did with the Duramax diesel, they just changed the tuning program every year to add HP. I would like to know if there is an after market tuner to do this for the Maxxforce.

Might want to check with a Navistar service center, other than that cause of the newness of the engine you may have a hard time finding a tuner for these.

I would ask Navastar Monaco if they can "re-flash" your ECM. deSanford
