MCD Windshield shades

We have a 2008 Monaco Diplomat and would like to add MCD windshield shades. Has anyone installed these themselves? Do you have pictures of the install?

Thanks for help.

Tony, I installed them on my 2000 Dynasty 36. My installation would be altogether different than yours, so pix would not do you any good. I can say that the greatest part of the project, by far, was almost totally rebuilding the overhead wooden structure to make it solid enough to support the MCD shades. That was required both for the windshield, the driver's window and passenger's window. I bought only the windshield shade as power-driven. The other two were manually operated. Expect a bit of trial and error with the programming of the limits.

Other than the overhead rebuilding, installing the shades was not at all difficult.

You will have to fashion some sort of valances to hide the mechanisms unless you are OK with them being exposed.

Hello Tony,

I have a 2008 Safari Cheetah that I installed AutoMotion windshield shades on (very similar to MCD).

I have install pics at http://www.irv2.com/forums/f115/quic...17034-113.html

Perhaps this will help you get started since the Diplomat is roughly the same coach.
