Mhughes - rear Watts link or cross bars?
Hi Mike,
I tried to send this to your support email from your website but it kept bouncing back as spam.
I have a Roadmaster RR8S chassis on my 2008 Beaver Contessa (same as Camelot and Scepter). Is it recommended to go with the cross bars or Watts link (or both) for the rear and why?
Also, is there any known installation issues with the front and/or rear Watts link?

We installed a single cross bar in the rear. 2 would not fit, they hit each other.
Mike did some grinding on the front. But I think he has since modified the bracket to clear.
I sent you a message

Thanks John. I’ll give him a few days to respond since the info may be of some interest to others. Did you install a WL?
BTW - I saw a video where the cross bar mounts were installed right side up for one cross bar and then inverted for the other so as to create about 3-4” offset between the two bars.

The windsors are also on the RR8S chassis. I installed the rear X bars a couple years ago and then the front watts about 8 months later. I purposely spaced them out because I was curious if any one was a big improvement. Each time there was a definite improvement. Mike thought the rear watts wouldn't fit (from over the phone) because I don't have jacks, but when he saw it in Quartzsite in January, they would fit so we installed them. So I've got all 3. Overall, a big improvement.

Nope. Only 1 would fit, no matter how we tried.
I did Watts front 1 cross bar rear.

Do you have any pictures of this setup (for front) or a link with more info?

Thanks Bill. Was ‘wandering’ your main issue? My coach wanders slightly to the point that I feel it requires almost constant attention but not to point of being dangerous. After a while on the road I almost get used to it but I don’t think it should do this.

John, did you notice a significant difference in wandering (if you had that problem)?

I didn't have a horrible wander, so the improvements I noticed we're minimal.
I still think it was worth doing the front.
Also, adjust the steering gear. That had a lot of slop in it.

There’s quite a few videos on YouTube but here is one.

I wouldn't say wandering was the main issue. It was never bad. I was trying to get the truck passing less of a 'surprise' if I didn't catch them in the mirror before they passed me. It has definitely helped.
Be sure to identify your maker of the steering box. Some of them are adjustable. I did that adjustment before I started adding the x bars.

Interesting, I was able to put both bars on and no rubbing. Also have front Watts Mike installed in 2008 at Quartzsite.

I have the cross bars, front Watts link and rear Watts link on my 08 HR Endeavor.... with each addition, the handling of my coach got better, more stable especially in cross winds and when big rigs were passing me...
These improvements are well made and work as advertised.
My brother and I installed everything and the only issue that I had was that I lost one of the bolt off the front Watts on the first trip after the install. I suspect that I didn’t have that bolt torqued properly. For my piece of mind, I went back through the front and rear installations and used blue loctite on all of the bolts.... probably not needed but glad I did it.

Who sells the Monaco Watts Link Kit? And how much does a "front" kit cost?
I saw the video on installation - but there was no mention of where to buy it.
