Micro, convection removal.
I have a 1998 Executive and I can't get the Sharp micro-convection out. I took the board off the top and removed two elbo brackets but its still somehow held in the back. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I know some used two long screws holding the unit but this one doesn't.

Usually the long rods to unscrew it from the mounting plate are accessed from behind the grease filters below it. Make sure you are hanging on to it or have someone else supporting it when you unscrew them. Both may not necessarily be holding it.

Thanks guys, I looked all over, but not under the filters. And it is heavy.
Thanks again.

I just remembered there was another Sharp micro model that had two long flat bars, about 3/4" wide, that pushed up into slots or something in the mounting plate. The bar ends are 90 degree bends on the bottom of the micro at the wall, one on each side, and usually a screw held them from pulling down. If the screw is removed, use a flat screwdriver to lever them down, but again, be ready for the micro to pivot forward. Again, if it's like this, do not assume both locks are engaged. It may only have one engaged because they were a PITA to install.
One more odd mounting system, maybe Sharp as well, was the mounting plate had arms that it slid onto. Behind the upper grill on each side is a large Phillips screw that is removed (it holds the micro to the arms) then pull the micro toward you, and off the arms. Best to have two people, one on each side.

Our 2004-vintage Sharp R-1874 has the two long angled bolts that go up into the microwave backing plate accessed through the grease filter opening, BUT Monaco installers decided to add two screws on each side on the lower edges going into the cabinetry in hard to see locations. Once they were found and removed, it swung forward/down as designed.

Place a board on your counter covered with a blanket. Use a scissors jack to support the unit while you remove the mounts when you find them.
Those long screws on mine are hard to find.

Mine had the long bolts AND a couple of drywall screws through the side case...from the factory. Screws were up kind of high hard to see, they had to have used an angle drive to sink them.
