Monaco '05 Sig Back-up Lights

With engine not running, trans in Neutral back-up lights came on while parked next to house. Turned ignition ON and tranny was in "N" then started engine and went thru Drive - Neutral - Reverse - Neutral - Drive - Neutral - Reverse - Neutral and went back and the back-up lights were still ON ! The only way to turn them off was to turn OFF the engine batteries disconnect switch in the battery compartment!!!

Lights came on all by themselves! Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx, John

There should be a fuse (box 2?) for backup lights, try pulling that and see if they go out. Also check your trailer connector/wires too.

I have a 2004 Signature If the wiring has not changed much the back up lghts can get power from 2 sources. One is the "world trans. vehicle interface" according to my wiring diagram. The other is the docking light relay (2-K2) in the rear run box. If your '05 has the same set up, that relay could be stuck on.

Don't think I've ever heard of that problem!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Could your docking light switch be on?
The small light in the switch that comes on when depressed could be burned out.
