Question Monaco Barron III 1997 Turning/steering Wanders and Bangs

Hi all, I am a new Monaco owner!! I started with a class c 1983 Kajun 21', then A class A 1986 Overland 30' chevy 454, a 1995 Bounder Sj36(which met it end with a 40' tree falling on it) and now have a great 1997 Monaco Barron III 38' 325 turbo dp.
I drove it home from Florida over memorial day to Connecticut, first 1000 miles, new driver with a nice coach like this, and no problems. When I took it out in August for my first trip to North Carolina, I started to have some sway in the front tires but nothing in the steering wheel. The problem is so bad now that when I turn left or right the rig turns but jerks and then a loud bank happens. I have had the rollers removed, breaks checked, all suspension checked. I am now wondering if it is the steering box or possibly the frame mounting brackets...

HELP

Welcome. There is lots of great help on here..You might start with reading some of this thread if you have the Sheppard steering box. If you have the trw. you can adjust it if needed..First is determine if you have play in your steering box..

As mentioned, read the thread noted above. It's long but very informative.

You didn't mention which chassis you have. I know on the roadmaster's in late '90's had some real issues with the bushings failing. There is a very good replacement for them.

You mention that when you turn you hear a loud bang. I wonder if your tires are hitting the coach, maybe you're ride height is off as well.

What 'rollers' did you remove?

Hi Mark! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Congrats on the new rig! Sorry I can't help with your problem. Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
