Monaco Coaches

I have a personal observation to share with other Monaco owners........just for kicks, I looked at some new newell coaches online the other day........as a lot of you know, newells are high end and some go closed to $2 million...........when looking at the interiors, while they are nice and have a lot of glitz and glamour, not to mention bells and whistles, I found their layouts the same as a lot of other lower end coaches out there............and when compared to my 2007 Monaco knight 40skt, kitchen in front, I realized I liked my coach a lot better, especially the layout............I have a bed, like the newell, I have satellite tv, like the newell, I have a bath, like the newell...........and all for $1.9 million less...............I don't know why I am writing other than to say, even guys like me, who don't own the newest and best, can still enjoy this lifestyle............be happy with what you have............we are (although wife doesn't like those upholstered things around the windows)......hahahah........

Exactly my sentiments when comparing the newer ones...

granted, would jump right there if we won two or three lotteries, but ours does fine !

Lol we looked a long time at new coaches and wound up with an 06 Navigator 43' because the interior and the floor plan was much better. If I agree if I had unlimited funds a custom Prevost would be nice but we love ours!!

My wife and I went to a local RV show a few months ago, there were probably 40-50 motorhomes at the show, a fair mix of Class A, B, and C's and even a couple of super C's. Prices ranged from $40,000 - $400,000 or so, and we did not see a single one that we would want to have more than our 15 year old Safari Trek, sure some had nicer interiors, but I am fine with our corian counter tops, wood cabinets and fiberglass shower, we don't need real tile, granite counters, .... A few of the gadgets looked well gadgety, do I really need remote control light fixtures, and touch screens ...

Yes sir, my little 'ole 14 year old entry level Monaco still does everything I need it to do. I have looked at a newer, bigger, badder, faster coaches, but I haven't found one I couldn't live without...so far. I have a big bed, convection microwave and a flush potty like the Newell's and Prevost's do, so I'm pretty happy with it.

We like to go to the RV shows and rally's to see what's new in styling or options on coaches. Rarely have we brought back something that we felt we must have and we have never seen a new coach that we want. Instead, we've remodeled the interior of our '06' Dip and continue to freshen it up or make changes where it suits us.

While we've promised our children that there'll be nothing left when we die, we'd rather spend our money on future travels than on a new coach...

A good observation! We love our 2002 Windsor, and there's not many high-end coaches that we would want instead!

Same sentiment here. My rig may not have some of the latest gimmick glitz, but it's built tough as nails and has everything I need.

Not much you can do different, layout wise; Its a shoebox with some slide out drawers......maybe move the refrig from mid coach to front or vise-versa, but mostly lounge area in front, kitchen right or left side, bath, bed, closet.
List price? Now that's where things get interesting!

I feel very strongly about mine, a Newmar sales reps told me it is the best gas coach ever made, and I should stick with it. That is what I plan on doing.

As my wife said just the other day, our '98 HR 38WDS is a keeper. Equipment on it is everything we need, and it all seems to work OK with a great floor plan !
