Monaco Executive 2004 fuel gauge issue.

I have a 2004 MONACO executive when the fuel gauge reads empty I still have about 75 gallons of diesel. I looked around and couldn’t find the sending unit. If someone could give me some knowledge on this issue I would really appreciate it thank you.

Your fuel sending unit is probably a Centroid Products make.

Here is a link to their website, there is a calibration procedure that you can try. CENTROID PRODUCTS - Electronic Fuel and Water Senders scroll down the page and you'll see some links to calibration for Monaco coach.

I would also check the wiring connections, take one off at a time, clean and reinstall.

My gauge is on the passenger side, I have dual fueling but if you don't chances are you can loosen the straps on the bottom of the door and it will swing up.

The sensor is on the top of the tank, centered about ~18" from the side. I can get to mine and did do a calibration on it. It helped.

On a 2004 model, the propane and fuel tanks are both in the front basement compartment. The propane tank does not extend all the way across to the passenger side, so that leaves room to crawl into the space just in front of the fuel tank.
It's not easy but doable.
Good luck!

Should be on the top of the fuel tank. Looks like a hockey puck with several wires on screw terminals on top of the puck. Picture of mine from above
Cheers,

When I replaced mine the old would stay on full for 250 miles then drop fast. I called Centroid and talked to a guy who told me to take the old one out and take pics of the top and send it to him. He made me a new sending unit and he calibrated it to the old unit specs. My tank was 1/2 full. I stuck a tape measure in the hole to see where the fuel wet the tape and it measured exactly half of total height of the tank. When new sending unit was installed the gauge showed exactly half full. When tank was full it showed full.
Make sure top of tank is clean and take picks of wire placement and make sure wires are replaced on correct terminals and tight. Very easy job to do....... now my gauge reads correctly........

Safe travels
Dave

I've only got experience with my rig... but I would think 2004 exec would be similar to my 2003 dynasty.
My diesel tank and propane tank are in the first bay door behind the front axle. Open that first storage door on the passenger side just behind the wheel well and you should see the fuel filler extending out of the side of the tank.
Look up over the top of the tank, about 18"-24" inboard and there should be a hockey-puck looking thing on the top of the tank with some wires leading to it.
If yours isn't there, then it's not like mine and I can't help you!
Cheers,
Walter
