Monaco Fog Lights & Wiring in Ceiling
Hello Everyone,
We just got a 2000 Monaco Dynasty 36'. We are working on it fixing and upgrading different items.
First Question: Anyone know how to find out what Monaco used for the Fog Lights - I have one that the glass is broke. It is a rectangle fog light - the outside housing measures about 8.5" x 4.5". The Glass housing measures about 7.5" x 4.25" x 2.75"deep. It uses a H3 bulb.
Any good ideas on a replacement one???
Second Question. I am planning on drilling two holes through the roof. One for Solar System wires, and one for Wi-Fi Ranger & We-Boost. Is there any way to know where the electrical wires are ran in the roof (and the metal roof joists) before I start the drill?
Thanks

Congratulations on your new ride Rocketman3!
My 99 Signature had generic fog lights and Hella driving lights. Maybe you can get a number off of the good light lens.
Those are typically glass and don't have that DOT number molded in but you can take a look. Google that DOT number and that will take you to what they are. Works for headlights and tail lights for sure.
Your coach may already have solar wiring to the roof through the fridge vent cap. I think Dynasty and above came pre wired for solar. Maybe not enough for your intentions but worth a look.
They usually used 4 gauge copper. Take you vent cover off and have a look, or you might be able to see with mirror.
I can't help on the roof wiring part, I wonder the same thing as you!
Good luck!

For the holes in the roof/ceiling you might be able to look in the cabinets. In my case the PO installed a CB antenna and accessed one of the cabinets above the passenger seat and was able to remove one of the end panels under the front camp to gain access to install.
My 2002 Windsor ( a 2nd cousin of the Dynasty) came prewired for solar and a 85 watt panel next to the refrigerator shroud. PO added two 125 watt panels. When I was checking the termination bars were all corrided so I replaced. It only as an 8 awg wire to the controller so it will handle 40 amp but the controller itself is 30 amp.

Ditto on suggestion above
I put in the Weboost using the small hole at the front-center on the roof where I had a satellite and cellular antenna wires coming out. Don't know if those were factory or not, but was able to reach them from the back of the center tv cabinet above the front console. Just unscrewed the cap from the roof, ran wire, and recaulked it like crazy when putting it back on.
I also mounted the Weboost right onto the airhorns using the bracket they supply....no holes in the roof at all....hooray!!
BTW...if you didn't also get the WeBoost larger flat panel antenna for the inside, you will want that. I put mine inside the front console pointing inward. External antenna on the very front corner of the roof. These need to have good separation and not come close to pointing toward the external to work. When I bought mine, they didn't have a truly motorhome specific kit, so I had to buy the pieces separately.

Driving Lights
On my 2000 Dynasty, I replaced the Hella rectangular lights with these from Amazon.
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They are extremely bright and if I could only have these driving lights OR my headlights while driving at night I would choose these. You have to be careful aiming them, since they are so bright. Mount these with an overhead spacer about .75 - 1.00 thick. Paint the inside of the cavity where the lights mount flat black and their "outline" disappears. Looks great. Works great. About $35.
