Monaco Rookie

I just bought our first ever RV. It's a 1999 Monaco Diplomat and I'm very excited to take the whole family RVing. Before we event think about taking our first trip there are some modifications I want to do immediately, beides of the missing bushings on the rear axle this coach looks amazing. One thing though that annoys the .....out of me is the placement of the TV's front and back
I have stepped in my coach about a dozen times now and at least half of the time I have hit my head on the front TV cabinet.
Whoever came up with placing that front TV over the driver seat clearly never stepped into a coach and tested this. I have been all over the internet to look for new front cabinets so I can put in a flat screen in the middle of the windshield. The front cabinets in the Monaco are a row of 3. I would like to get one on each side so I can put a big flat screen in the middle. Up until now, I have not found any of those cabinets. I also need to replace the dinette fabric and I need to know what the size of the bed is. It looks like a full but I;m not 100% sure. I would realy appreciate if some of my now fellow Monaco owners, it feels so great to say that, could give me some advise on the changes I want to do.

Monacoers Yahoo

Since I don't own a 1999 Dip I cannot suggest what to do. However, I can suggest that you join a great group of Monaco owners called Monacoers Yahoo Group.

I am sure you will receive some very useful information regarding your questions.

Translators7; you did not mention what partof the country you are in. Last year while having work done in Oregon, we found a place that does what you are looking for. Redoing cabinets in MH's. While we did not redo our front cabinets where the TV is, we did replace the old monster with a new flat screen one that is a fraction of the weight.
I do agree that the placement of the front TV is not great!
Welcome to the world of RV's.

I do not believe you will find a place to just buy cabinets to fit. However, you could get a custom shop to pull out what you have and make new ones to your specs, or you could modify what you have.

For some ideas about what others have done search the forums for LCD and you should find several. Here are some photos of what I did in our 2003 Monaco Dynasty. 2003 Dynasty LCD/LED Installation - iRV2.com RV Photo Gallery

There are few items on our MH's that are 'off the shelf'. Your best bet is to have them custom made for what YOU want. We may end up doing that the next time we are in Oregon and have some extras time.
