I was just wondering who from our forum might be attending the Western Family Masquerade Ball in Salem OR. September 22 - 25. We went to the one in 2006 and had a good time. We are thinking of going to this one before we head off to the Balloon Fiesta.

My wife and I have attended in both 06 and 07 and had a great time both years, we are planning on it again this year. Last years turnout was only about 2/3 of 06, it will be interesting to see how this year goes with fuel as it is.

Rick </div></BLOCKQUOTE>Ditto, ... we are looking forward to going no matter how many others attend. Like the wife and I, some will always find a way to attend such a great event.

We attended in 07 and it was the best rally I have been to. Because there were only about 400 coaches, I literally could not come up with anything else to have fixed on my coach. Techs were knocking on the door, looking for something to fix and by the last day, I think everyone had had everything fixed. It helped that the rally is an hour from the factory parts depot, and that Monaco required all of their vendors to send one or two techs for their products. The food was excellent, the entertainment was great and the bars/cocktail hours were never ending. All for about $300. I am driving up from San Jose, because it is such a great time.

Sacs and I went to last year's "Western Round-Up" and I had a great time! We did choose to go to the Oregon Jamboree this year on August 1...and I don't think I can get both sets of days off..BUT you guys can always stop in and pay the "Troll" in Southern Eugene!
Have a great time...and know that MonacoMama wishes she could go!

Hmmmm.......sounds like I'm may have to talk to CheetahGirl about this as we may still be in the area around then. Our September schedule so far is still an "open" agenda.

Luke's statment about "techs knocking on the door" really got my attention. We will be at Yellowstone earlier in the month and Southern Washington State after that and will see if we can fit it in.
Thanks for the tip Luke.

Sounds like we may have to get the IRV2 group together and caravan in, so we all park together. The rally had techs or reps from:
Atwood
Duotherm
Onan
Powergear
Carefree
Magnum
Thetford
Wingard
Cummins
CAT
Allison
Workhorse
Goodyear
And a number of others.
The rally was small enough that the classes and seminars were small, so everyone got their questions answered. Monaco had a complete selection of all of their coaches lines there. Monaco, Holiday Rambler, Safari and Beaver. It was nice to go into each successively more expensive coach and see what additional upgrades you got for more money. That is when I decided that the Diplomat hit my sweet spot.
Monaco had much of their top management there to talk with, and they were very good about handing out business cards, should you have problems. They had a meeting with us as customers, to ask us what we like and what we disliked. And they took notes and handed out more phone numbers! All in all, it was a very positive experience for me as a customer of Monaco.

I am willing to help coordinate it ...and drive up in my car one day...if others are interested. I think there could be more clout going in as an iRV2 group. What do some of you others think??

We sent in our reservation today. We are going to do the early bird so will be arriveing on the 21st. Would be happy to park with other IRV2 Monaco owners forum members. I understand that to park together you must arrive together so any ideas on when and where to meet?
