Probably wouldn't hurt to clean and reseal. This may be the last time you have it out.

Is the plug magnetic? Did you see and evidence of metal shavings?? When I changed mine I used a white 5 gallon bucket to catch the oil and then when I transferred it to smaller jugs looked for any metal. I think I did my change at ~80K miles.



I've only heard of one Monaco with a ring and pinion failure, it isn't common but does happen, and is expensive when it does.

Yes there was a little metal on the drain plug. I don’t think enough to be worried about though.
I’m not sure when the diff oil was changed last, but I don’t think it’s original by how loose the plug was.

I’m letting it drain out overnight and I’ll refill it in the morning

I'm guessing that's CRC Red silicone sealer. Since it leaked, I'd use Permatex Ultra Grey or Permatex PTFE (Teflon) sealer.
