That is an error on their window stickers.

Also I was at the HRRVC 419 rally in May where they had 300 HR owners. They held Navistar focus groups with customers. They also had customer focus groups go throough several units and do write ups and suggestions. They did everything ferom chassis, to lighting, exterior features and interior decor and even window and door placement. It was very complete and I know the Navistar Product development people where pleased with all the feed back.
I sure hope so, cause that would be a huge step backwards and a definite deal breaker for us, since the we want a few modifications and could not buy one off of the lot.

This effort is being directed by Bill Osborne who I understand is right on top of his game. They are making a legitimate go of this and I wish them well.

Whew!!!!

That would definitely make my day, we;ve done way to much looking and research to want to have start over again when we're within a couple of months of ordering. Really don't want to start all over again.

Traps90- If you have a local dealer with a 2013. Go in the coach and look on the smart wheel you will see the 3 positions for the stages of the engine brake. You will also notice that the window sticker is in error and wont match up to what the coach has. Early model year marketing glitch.

Okay.....I stand corrected, one of the things I didn't like they fixed for 2012...sizes. Not everyone wants a 43 foot coach that measures almost 45 feet. Apparently they went back to some shorter coaches. We like our 36', but would probably go with a 40'. Why not make a true 40, not one almost 42'. A LOT of people of are very interested in shorter coaches. Most of the other companies realized that.

I'm sorry for those who have them, but I think the new front and rear ends on the Diplomat look like clown cars.....horrific design. When we looked last year and all they had were the 40+ footers, the salesman pushed us toward a Knight. I know the Knight is similar to mine with amenities, maybe even more, but they wouldn't put a bigger engine in. Lastly, I might look at a MaxForce engine 5 or 6 years from now once it's been proven as an RV engine. It already has smog issues.

With today's cost of fuel and the government wanting more fuel efficient cars and trucks I believe more people will op for smaller coaches. I have a short 36' Cayman built with a left over Cummins engine from the Monaco BK. After a couple of important mods including reprogramming the transmission TCM so I now end up in 6th gear overdrive at 55mph. I couldn't be happier (read that as over 15mpg). deSanford verified by my Scan Gauge "D".

Well Ramblin I haven't had time to go to a dealer;s lot, but have to say that looking at pics on line the steering wheels definitely look identical to the 2012's, so my guess is your correct.

Did send a inquiry to Monaco about that but have not heard back yet.

If I were to buy tomorrow, my new screen name would be Allegro Bus Don.

Now if they would just call and ask for my opinion, I could turn around their RV division overnight!
Don,

We think alike! All I would add is that if I purchased another Class A it would most likely be a used Allegro Bus. I will never buy a new Class A again. To many bugs to work out and it is difficult to find a dealer that has competent techs. You keep going back for the same problem under warranty and end up fixing it yourself. My biggest gripe is that Navistar has thrown all us owners of pre-Navistar coaches under the bus, or should I say motorhome. Thank God for guys like Rex who keep tabs on where to find parts.

Diplomat Don: Do not get caught up in the Tiffin hype. I cannot speak to the floor plans but Tiffin quality is mediocre. No better than Thor or any other mfr. They certainly have staying power and do look after their customers. But you might have to live in Red Bay for a year to cure all the inherent problems. Have you been to the factory? Very unimpressive. You can learn a lot by talking to owners in their CG. After reading all those threads on ill handling 36 ft. coaches I wonder if that would be a wise purchase?

Moisheh I agree with you on what I would do if I were to purchase another motor home. It took the DW and I TWO years to correct the issues with our 2011 Navistar RV (Monaco). As far as handling goes after all the fixes and mods I can honestly say this 36' coach is almost as good as a "grey hound", before it was a mutt. deSanford
