I'm trying to locate the following 12v motor on line but not having any luck. The number on the motor is DC25-12-30 and and a photo of it is attached. This is the motor in my Auto Motion Shade that's failed. If anyone knows of a web sited or business that sells these please let me know. Thanks

Google that number or Ebay it. I have found several parts including motors this way. My A E awning motor came from a 2003 Tahoe right rear window lift motor! Saved over $200.00 on that one and it was a better gear set than i had. Good luck.

That number doesn't work when you google it but if you try automation shade parts it comes up with several matches.

Elf111: I checked automation shade parts and ended up at this site: https://www.automatedshadestore.com/...amp=1411355908

Is this the site you were referring to? If so not seeing the motor. If this isn't the site could you give me the web site?

Thanks

Probably the quickest way to find what you are looking for is to call the factory. Their website gives these phone numbers for contacts.

Sorry spell check tried to help me, the search I used is auto motion shade parts it took me to family rv center online parts store. I just took a quick look but it looks like they have two motors for different sized shades.

Elf111: Thanks. I sent both places an email so will wait and see.

Bob&AnnaMari: I also sent them and email and they don't sell the motor separately. Now trying to figure out what it would cost to replace shade that failed. If I were starting from scratch and installing motorized blinds I think I would look hard at MCD, at least they sell replacement motors.

All this electrical stuff in the coach is great when it works but what a pain when it fails. Something to be said for manual shades.

Can not help your directly but I can tell you of some searches I have done in times gone past.. Google the motor and see if you can find the specs, Size, shape voltage, current, speed and such.

The search for another motor...same specs.

Example: My Microwave (Dometic made by LG) the turntable kept failing, Turns out the idiot designers made a few mistakes,, Searching I found a turntable motor used on a GE microwave that was electrically an exact match and physically the same except the shaft was just a little bit longer (And better made too) Thing has worked now for 9 years. (I made one other change as well)

But I started by getting the specs, and then looking to match them.

Ken,

I was just looking around the net and found this place that sounds like they offer motors for the Auto Motion Shades. Their pictures do not match what you posted, but you would know what the whole assembly looks like and maybe this is a viable alternative. (They specifically mention that AutoMotion does not sell the motors and they offer replacements.) I would certainly give them a call.

In looking around, it appears that this is not an uncommon problem with these shades. That is a pity, because they really look great and their videos are very impressive. I can see why you want to keep this functionality.

Bob: Thanks I've already sent them and email last week but to date no response.

Did get a response from Auto Motion regarding replacing just the whole mesh shade and was quoted $230 plus shipping. I'm probably going to buy it but will keep looking since I'm sure the other blind motor will ultimately fail as well.

I also found a ton of entire motor assembly on Alibaba's site but you have to buy a minimum of 100 on up to 5000 at one time. They call it a Tubular Motor.
