The way everyone talked on here, I thought it would be easy to take out what Monaco put into the overhead, to fix the hum problem. Boy, was I wrong. I did not believe you guys when you said that it involved completely filling the compartment with additional boxes and wiring. You were right. I am somewhat electronically inclined, but when I started to pull out components and wiring, I knew I was in BIG trouble.

Could someone walk me throught what gets taken out and where the left over components plug back in? I have the recommended ground loop isolators from Radio Shack.

I bought my 07 diplomat in April. I think the Monaco mmodification was already done. I have more commponents in the box than the wireing diagram shows. I did not take anything out. I just installed the raido shack isolator. Just one and I put it on the line that goes to the ammplifier. The hum is gone. I hope this helps. There is a lot of stuff in that box and it is difficult to trace any of the wires where they go. Good Luck.

Same here Luke. I just put this noise suppressor in the line coming into the amp. No more noise.

Luke,

I did take everything out that had to do with the service bulletin 07-07-08. You don't need any of it and it takes up a lot of room in the AV cabinet - not to mention generating loads of extra heat. It's not difficult, although I cannot tell you exactly what to do by memory. What you should do is get a paper copy of the SB. It includes detailed directions for installing the various kit components. All you have to do is follow the instructions in reverse.

IOW, if it tells you to unplug connector x from connector y and then connect this to "x" and that to "y", it's just a matter of disconnecting the added stuff and plugging connector x back into y. Sorry I can't be more specific from memory, and I cannot find the AD itself. But it's really not difficult. The instructions come complete with pictures. Your dealer should have a copy, or Monaco should be able to email you a copy.

Alternately, if you just dissconnect everything that was added extra, what you will have left, I think, will be four connectors - two each that match their counter-part. It'll be rather obvious at that point which connects to which. No wires should have been cut in the installation of the kit, and all the original harness connectors should still be there.

Robin's solution worked fine. I just unplugged everything connected to the two new boxes and plugged the remainin cable connectors back together. Only one 3 wire harness left over and it does not seem to attach to anything. Everything works great. No more hummmmmmmmmmm.

While I was at it, I added Y connectors to the input audio cables and hooked in an IPod cable. Sounds great.

Also put our Wii console in where Monaco's hum solution came out, hooked it to the TV and now I can bowl and golf down the center of the coach.
