Have an '05 HR Vacationer w/8.1L gas. Wanted to install pedestal directionals in the front side like others have mentioned. Fortunately, before drilling mounting holes, I tried out the wiring. When connected to the front directional with the lights on, the blinking rate slows to the point the side view camera keeps flipping between side and rear view. Unacceptable as we always drive with the lights on. Any suggestions?

Some turn signal flashers are load sensitive , and any change in load will slow or speed up the flashing to warn the driver that there may be a bulb problem ( burnt out bulb) . First thing to try would be a HD flasher in the signals. Sometimes you can swap the 4way flasher over to test, as that flasher is HD.

sounds like you may need to replace your standard turn signal flasher with a "heavy duty" one.

Thanks to Skip426; I think you nailed it. Your suggestion,along with that of Macantic will be checked out. Just where does one start looking for the signal flasher?

Usually in , or next to, the main chassis fuse panel , should be able to track either flasher by the sound.

You might also consider LED's for your bulbs. I added 2 lights on each side (LED's) and had no issues.

Thanks to all. Followed my ears to the flasher unit, then to NAPA for a heavy duty one (good omen: the radio was playing Beethoven's fifth on the ride to NAPA). The installation of the lights was straight forward, just not physically easy. Job is now done and libations have been served. Toasts given to all that gave out hints.
