There was a Neptune and Neptune XL. Usually, the XL or often LE are limited edition models. They can either be an upgraded version or a more basic version. I looked at the Monaco archives and they don't show which one is upgraded or more basic.

I've previously heard that when they have extra components, like one color interior or other similar pieces they'll often make several coaches all the same and call them an LE or XL to get rid of those overstock items.

What DS Don says - tjust a marketing designation for a package of features.
You can download a 2006 Neptune brochure at Holiday Rambler Brochures – RV Brochures – Past Popular RV Motorhomes
but it doesn't delineate what is in the XL package.

Gary....I was looking for the Monaco brochures that distinguished between the two. I know they exist, but couldn't find them the other day on the HR or Monaco site. I remember one of the brochures had the Cayman or Neptune with half the brochure about the standard coach and the other half about the XL or LE. Just can't find it anymore.

If I remember correctly the XL package (at least on my 07 Neptune) was a forced package that added quite a few options. I can look back on my price sheet this evening if you'd like to know exactly what it added.

When I asked my dealer why it was a required option and not just standard equipment, he said: It made the "base price" less on the unit which in turn made the "entry level" monaco product cheaper than anyone else entry level pusher. Honestly, the options the XL package added were what I thought it should have had as standard. Hope this helps.
