New Acryllic Grab Handle

We are new owners of a 2002 Monaco Diplomat. The acryllic grab handle on the outside of the coach should be replaced. So I've found a source to order one. My question is, on this coach are the handles normally lighted? We can order lighted or non lighted, engraved or not engraved. I don't want to remove the handle before I get the new one just to see if there are wires there.

At least on my 2000 Dynasty, the handle is both lighted and engraved. On my coach one of the switches by the door is labeled step lights and handle.

The grab handle on our 2000 Windsor developed stress cracks and eventually it came apart when my Bride used it to steady herself. Monaco parts directed me to Fleming Sales, if I remember right in Elkhart, In. It was lighted and engraved. They custom engraved it with our family name. The light part is in the upper bracket and worked with the porch light. If ever you park next to a green/white 00 Windsor that says Edmonson on the handle, that's us.

If the handle is acrylic, and it's the acrylic part that is bad, then it makes no difference if it's lighted or not, the light is in one of the end caps (Generally the bottom one) and will remain there.

If it is the end caps that are broken, then ... Well then you could see the light couldn't you.

DunesView......The handle on your coach is not lighted unless someone added lighting. The Diplomats in that era did not have lighted handles. Many of us added an LED bulb in the upper mount and wired it to power.

I played with many LED bulbs before I just bought the correct one from Monaco for $10.00. I didn't know they offered one that cheap.
