New Member wnd1946 with Question

Thanks for the warm welcome i hope to learn how this site works and communicate with all of you. wnd1946

I do need help with my 2004 Monaco Knight as I have a problem trying to open the rear road side slide (bedroom) appears to be catching on the top rear corner. The motor appears ok, it triggers on and off but i don't want force the drive to hard. When I try an open the motor starts and stops when the slide moves slightly and appears to catch .

Has anyone ever had this problem and any replies would be much appricated.

Has debris gotten into the works? Floors are known to delaminate and provide a hang up.

My Camelot owners manual says to open and close slides only when the air suspension is fully deployed and not on the levelers.

Our 04 Imperial did something similar. The motor unit has a drive gear on it that broke off two teeth and did a skip when deploying and retracting. When the slide is deployed there is a gear rack on the underside of the slide that is driven by that gear. It was covered under the drive motor mfgrs 2yr warranty. That slide, that has the bed in it, has been removed and repaired under warranty twice when we first go the coach. Later I had to thru-bolt the bed unit to the slide to keep it from binding when in use. After I got those things straightened out it has worked perfectly since.
