New Monaco offering warranty for 310 bucks

I received a letter today from Terry Labonte RV, the dealer that I purchased my coach from. They informed me that Monaco LLC has made arragements to cover your coach or towable for one year from the day you took delivery regardless of the date for 310 bucks, payable to Prism, the firm that has handled Monaco's extended warranties for years. The policy has a 100 dollar deductible but my dealer is waiving that charge for all work done by them. Even if you have an independent extended warranty this policy with Prism is required to cover ALL items normally covered by the original factory warranty. This sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Of course for those who have already spent money out of pocket whether it be a large or small amount, this arrangement doesn't help much. I have some money out of pocket and my house warranty expires in a couple of weeks. So I don't think I will be purchasing this inexpensive coverage. But if you a good amount of time "left" on your original warranty I think this offering should be given careful consideration.

Sounds like Navistar/Monaco LLC is trying to help out some anyway.

I bought from Terry Labonte also. My 1 year ended 4/30 for the "house" portion but should have had 2 more years for the "chassis." Did the letter address that part of the factory warranty?

That's fine and good for people that just bought a coach, but for people that had work done that was authorized then not paid for still leave a bad taste in my mouth...Once I finally calm down I'm going to write Kay a letter and let him know how I feel. It'll be interesting to see what line he'll take.

Gramps:

This indeed is good news for a few owners. They are moving in the right direction but there has to be more than that offering. I doubt it affects more than a few hundred owners. Sure would be nice if you had a serious problem and for a few measly bucks your unit would be covered. But most bought there units before November of 08. That would only give them about 5 or 6 months coverage. Less in most cases. This will cost Monaco very little. Like I keep saying : Their reputation is at risk.

If it is a Roadmaster this offering should cover the chassis as well but there is no mention of any coverage longer than a year. Any Workhorse chassis is still covered by the manufacturer. However that is a bit vague if you ask me. Terry Labonte RV as of the tenth was still waiting for some clarification of some aspects of this offering. By now they should have more info. I would contact Terry Labonte RV and they should be able to clarify it more for you. Also most house componets also have their own warranty that extends outside of the Monaco warranty.

I should note that Terry Labonte RV stated in the letter that it is not thrilled with Monaco LLC's response to out of pocket warranty claims. They have some of their own. They had hoped for a much better support structure from Navistar for existing owners but they understand that this is a business decison effected by the risks and perils of bankruptcy.

Tho only contact info I have is from Terry Labonte Rv. You might want to get on the Monaco or HR web site and contact them directly or possibly a Monaco dealer in your area.

I spoke with De Martini yesterday and he says that my Prizm coverage includes the chassis. I havent had time to actually check the policy but I will report back. I called Monaco on Tuesday but they have not returned the call.

I too did not get the warranty option. I suppose that is another department that is not yet operational. So let's see: no warranty dept., no parts dept., no service dept., no dealers, no announced plans. ????
