Hi All - thought I would join up and show support for the Monaco forum. After many months of looking and research, we bought a 2006 Knight 40PLQ yesterday!
Very excited to take delivery. We are going full time at the beginning of December, and seems like it is taking forever. We selected the 40PLQ because I am working full time, and will be setting up an office behind the bedroom so that I can do that. My GF is also working, but she just dabbles part time
Just wanted to say Hey. Below is a little animation I made after modifying the floorplan image from the Monaco site.

WELCOME to iRV2 and the Monaco Owner's Forum!
I think you'll find there are many good folks here that are anxious to hear more of your experiences with your new rig.
Those same folks will be happy to share their own experiences with their rigs and what I've found with many new members is that you folks bring differing levels of knowledge on a wide range of subjects, such that you're not only asking questions, but ANSWERING them as well!
Jump right in and ENJOY!

That is a unique floor plan, I like it. Your animation is slick. You'll have to tell us how you did that and then get it into the topic.
By the way Welcome aboard.

Hi Kev -
As has already been said, Welcome to irv2 and congrats on the new addition!
We're really glad to have you here as a new member and are looking forward to reading your posts about your RVing experiences and adventures. You'll find a great bunch of folks on this site who are very knowledgeable of RVing, the rigs we use, and the places we go in them. Enjoy the forums and post often, and when you want to be a offical member of the forum, and not just a new member of irv2, let me know.
You DO know, don't you, that you shouldn't try to open all 4 slides at the same time, don't ya?? It stresses the electrical system too much. (In all seriousness, that's some awesome graphics there!)
Ron

you didn't say where you are from, but if you are near Florida, the Monaco repair facility in Wildwood Florida is top-notch. Nice campground there also(free) and the folks are super friendly and helpful. I would take it there for repair work rather than to your dealer if the distance is not to far. We are now on our 2nd gas Monaco MH, but the wife now wants a Knight or Ambassador 40ft with the full slide and bath and 1/2. I drove one and it is so superior to the workhorse gas with the 8 outside airbags and positive trac. All I need now is some money. Good luck with your new home s/Toby

Toby - I am currently in San Jose, Ca - the other side of the world from you I am planning on heading that way very soon, however. Hopefully we will be out there in time for my first service.
I know exactly what you mean with the ride difference. My V10 Bounder was a ton of fun, and I loved it, but after driving a Monaco, I knew it was time to change. The ride is amazing, and I feel like I can drive for hours more without becoming exhausted. The Bounder needed lots of "attention".
Thanks again for all the welcomes!!

Kev, that's a great floor plan. I love my '00 Diplomat and the Roadmaster chassis. I've done some 10 hour days behind the wheel and felt less tired than a similar trip in a car or pickup. Monaco has factory service centers in Oregon, Indiana and Florida. I highly recommend them too. You can get a service appointment and lots of other info on the Monaco Coach website. If you're into DIY maintenance on your coach, I recommend joining the Monacoers group on Yahoo groups.
