My 2008 HR Endeavor has Black Monroe shocks. There are a few scratches on them from installation or whatever. No yellow showing through. They look like they were originally painted black at the factory. Has anyone ever seen black Monroes?

I'm not sure what you mean by air leveling. I am sitting at a campground right now that has a drivers side low tilt. As I let the air out of the system, I told my wife "too bad I can't let the air out of which ever bags I wanted to for easy leveling.
Is there a way to do this that I don't know about?
Thanks

Unfortunatly not on your Endevour.
Air leveling is an option on HR coaches starting with Scepter on up. I have no hyd leveling jacks. Computer system adjusts air in the 10 airbags to level the coach, or, you can raise or lower manually.

What is the major difference between Source Engineering Bilsteins and the ones recommended by the factory? Why doesn't the Bilsteins factory just sell the SE specced shocks to us Monacoers so we can install ourselves and not have to pay the markup and installation? Thanks.

Hi Wideglide,
My Endeavor has 8 computer controlled airbags that level and control the coach while traveling. When I am ready to stop for the night, I can manually release some or all of the air in the system/airbags that lowers the coach preparing for manual or automatic leveling with the hydraulic leveling jack system. I have assumed that when I manually release the air from the system, all 8 airbags have equal air pressure resulting in all 8 airbags being the same height as the air is released. If I am sitting at a tilt, side to side, I will still be sitting that way no matter how much air I release including all the way down to no air pressure in the system. If I am traveling on a slanted road, or going around a curving surface exit off of a highway, then my computer controlled leveling system will level my coach with differing air pressures in the airbags as needed to level and stabilize my coach.

Is this what you are talking about or are you saying the airbags on the Scepter will level the coach side to side or front to rear when you are ready to set up for the night? Controlled manually or automatically with different air pressures among your 10 airbags? I'm trying to learn about all the different capabilities possible on these coaches.
Thanks for your help

Larry, his Sceptor has the same system as my Navigator and yes, it does what yours does going down the road, but it also levels the coach when parked. Just like using the hydraulic jacks, it uses the air bags do adjust side to side and front to rear. I have both systems (hyd & air leveling) but we have never used the hydraulic system as we stay in fairly level sites that the air system can level us. Randy

Thanks Randy, that is good to know. Can you give some details how that system works?
Thank you

I have the Valid Power Gear control pad and just push the "automatic level" button. The system lets air off the high sides to bring the coach to level, sometimes it adds a little air if it needs via the built in air compressor. If you are further out of level or want a more solid feeling, then you can use the "automatic" hydraulic leveling. On either you do have the option to "manual" level if you so desire. I should add that it has "travel mode" which is automatic when you put it into gear and that sets the coach back to ride height for driving. Pretty straight forward system. Randy

Thank you Randy
I wanted to know if the air leveling system was automatic when you parked or if you had to initiate it. You answered that. Thanks
Because Endeavors have the traveling auto level system, do you think the parked air leveling system could be added to an Endeavor? If so do you have any idea how complicated it would be to install?

The air system when traveling is completely separate from air leveling. The traveling air system is maintaining what's called ride height valves and controls the distance between the suspension and the chassis of the coach. The air leveling is built by a number of companies. HWH is a major player. If anyone could or would do a retrofit, HWH probably could. They are in Moscow, IA. Give them a call.

I'm afraid that's above my pay grade to answer that Larry. I'm sure Steve's got the correct perspective on that one. Happy Travels! Randy

My Scepter has the auto-leveling while in motion but not while parked--I have Power Gear hydraulic jacks for that.

I believe one of the members in the Newmar board had it installed in his Dutch Star, by HWH. Think it ran about $5K.
So that would be in a 4 air bag system. Whether they would charge more for a 8 bag system, I dont know.

Thank you all for your answers, I appreciate it everyone. I've owned two gas class A motorhomes many years ago when I was a lot younger.
This is my first diesel coach. I'm learning a lot fast from you guys. I appreciate it. So far we love our Endeavor. The wood cabinets throughout are first class. I'm wondering how all of you decided to purchase the coaches you have. I know this question is changing the thread. Was it the chassis, the ride, company, engine, quality or what? There are so many names and brands, who makes the best? Or did a lot of you do what I did? I thought I'd try a coach for a while and see if I liked traveling this way. I didn't want to spend too much money while experimenting. I could have spent a hundred thousand less to experiment but I wanted to get something somewhat newer so hopefully I wouldn't be sitting by the roadside waiting for help on my first few outings even though I will guess that can happen with a brand new coach. The bottom line is the Coach world is new to me and I'm wanting to know if there are a lot better coaches to consider in the future or are most of them very similar. Do Roadmaster chassis ride better, last better than others? If not what chassis rides better and would be preferable? Thanks again!
